We want to make you aware of a recent scam targeting Lindell Bank customers. Scammers are contacting individuals via phone calls or text messages making the caller ID appear that it is from Lindell Bank. This is called Spoofing. Caller ID spoofing is a common type of fraud used to obtain personal information, acquire money, spread malware, or steal data.
Upon contact, the scammer claims that there are possible fraudulent charges on their account(s). After the customer confirms the "fraud," the scammer instructs the victim to download a remote access app and log into their online banking portal. This gives scammers access to financial accounts and personal information.
Lindell Bank will never ask you to download a remote access app or initiate a phone call asking you to log into your online portal for verification. Please NEVER share your login credentials with anyone for any reason.
What to do:
- If you are ever unsure about the legitimacy of a call or text message, end the call or close the messaging app and contact Lindell Bank directly at our main office 314-645-7700 or your local branch.
- We recommend you save Lindell Bank’s main number 314-645-7700 as well as your local branch’s number in your contacts.
